Dr. Drost treats hemorrhoids and anal fissures in DuPage County and Chicagoland
Dr. Thomas F Drost, MD, ND, FACS is a medical doctor, naturopathic doctor and is board certified in general surgery. Dr. Drost completed medical school at University of Nevada in Reno and earned a BS in Zoology/Physiology at University of Wyoming. His six years of surgical residency at University of South Florida, Tampa included a fellowship in trauma research. Upon completion of residency, he served as a Major in the US Army, where he was deployed to Somalia, Croatia, Zambia and Haiti in the 502nd MASH unit. After four years of service, he joined a busy general surgery practice in his hometown of Las Vegas.
While attending a medical conference with Andrew Weil, Dr. Drost was inspired to pursue additional education in alternative medicine. He attended Bastyr University in Seattle and earned a doctorate in naturopathic medicine. He and his wife, Lisa Drost, ND moved to the Chicago area, where they currently own and operate Oaktree Wellness Center, an integrative medical clinic specializing in men's health, medical weight loss and IV nutrition therapy.
From 2005-2010, he served as medical director for the Center for Colorectal Health in Chicago, treating over 4000 patients for colorectal health issues. Dr. Drost has now opened Midwest Center for Colorectal Health, specializing in treating anal fissures and hemorrhoids.
In his spare time, he enjoys gardening and collecting Lionel trains.
